This page explains how KidShift collects, uses, and protects information in the custody calendar app.
Our Commitments
We designed KidShift to keep families organized without compromising privacy. We never sell your data, we don’t track your GPS location, and you control who can see your schedules.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: Email address for account creation, login, and sync.
- Calendar Data: Custody schedules, events, and notes you add.
- Co‑Parent Data: Data shared with invited co‑parent(s) to enable syncing.
- Device Information: App version, device type, crash/diagnostic data for performance and support.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the app (display calendars, sync invites, notifications).
- To improve reliability and resolve issues (diagnostics and bug fixes).
- To communicate important updates about the service.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
3. What We Don’t Do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not share your calendar with anyone unless you explicitly grant access.
- We do not collect precise GPS location.
4. Data Security
We protect data in transit with SSL/TLS and apply industry‑standard safeguards at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorized processes and only to fulfill app functionality.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and calendar data while your account remains active. You can delete your account within the app or by contacting us, and your data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe.
6. How to Delete Your Account and Data
In-App Deletion
- Open the KidShift app
- Go to Settings → Delete Account
- This will delete all your local data
- This will also delete all your information in the cloud
What Gets Deleted
- All calendar data
- Notes and events
- Expense records
- Chat messages
- User profile information
Data Retention
- Data is kept only while your account is active
- Deleted accounts have all data permanently deleted within 30 days
7. Children’s Privacy
KidShift is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such data is discovered, we delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR/CCPA regions), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise rights, contact us.
9. Third‑Party Services
We may use trusted service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, error reporting) to support the app. These providers process data solely on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we post changes, we update the “Last Updated” date above and may notify you in‑app or via email for significant changes.
